ExplorerPatcher tools

These seven tools answer the questions people ask most about ExplorerPatcher: which settings to choose, whether your Windows build is supported, whether your download is genuine, how to recover a black screen, what a message means, how to clean up and which tool to pick. They run in your browser and do not upload your files.

Checked against ExplorerPatcher 71.1 (26100.9711.71.1) on Windows Server 2025 (24H2 shell) 26100.33674 and Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2 26200.9725 · Nov 6, 2026

Every tool runs in your browser. The Download Verifier never uploads the file you drop on it. The other tools load a small data file from this site and do their work on your device. The data was built from ExplorerPatcher 26100.9711.71.1 (29 Oct 2026) and our tests of 6 Nov 2026. Details are on the privacy page.

What each tool covers and what it does not

Tool Built from Limit to keep in mind
Configurator The Properties window’s own settings list and visibility rules, plus real screenshots from Windows Server 2025 We have not yet tested importing its file on a test machine, and some settings must be set by hand
Build Checker The wiki’s support table, release notes and our test builds It knows only the builds in its data; newer builds show as unknown
Download Verifier SHA-256 values we computed from the GitHub files A match proves the file is the one GitHub serves, not that the program is safe
Black Screen Rescue The project’s FAQ and our recovery tests It cannot help if Task Manager does not open
Message Decoder Strings from ExplorerPatcher’s source and its translations, plus a curated list A message that is not in the list shows no match
Cleanup Script Builder The leftovers we found after uninstalling on two machines It is for use after you uninstall; it does not remove ExplorerPatcher itself
Which tool? The facts on our alternatives page It does not ask for your Windows version or CPU

Common questions

Do these tools send my files or settings anywhere?

No. The Download Verifier computes the hash inside your browser and the Configurator builds its file there too. Each tool loads a small data file from this site, and nothing you type or drop is sent back. The privacy page covers what Google Analytics sees.

Are these tools made by the ExplorerPatcher developers?

No. We are an independent guide. The tools use data from the project's source code, wiki and release notes, plus our own tests, and each states which version of ExplorerPatcher it was built against.

Can a tool change my PC?

No tool here changes your PC by itself. The Configurator and the Cleanup Script Builder produce a file or a script that you review and run yourself, and the others only show information.
