New entries go at the top. Each entry gives the date, the page, what was wrong, and what we changed.
How we handle corrections
We keep a public record because the value of this guide is that you can check it. A guide about software that modifies Windows must not quietly rewrite its mistakes.
- Factual errors (a wrong build number, a step that does not work, a claim our evidence does not support) are fixed and logged within 7 days of us confirming them. The entry says what the page said before.
- Changes that follow new ExplorerPatcher releases or Windows updates are not corrections. We note those on each page through its “checked against” box and its date, and on the status and releases pages.
- Typos and layout fixes are made without a log entry.
- If a test of ours turns out to be wrong, we say so here and change the page that used it.
How to report an error
- Use Report a problem with this page at the bottom of the page. It opens an email with the page address filled in.
- Or write to hello@explorerpatcher.dev and give the page, what you think is wrong, and your source or your Windows build and ExplorerPatcher version.
- For a bug in ExplorerPatcher itself, use the project’s issues page. We cannot fix the program.
