About this guide
explorerpatcher.dev is an independent guide to ExplorerPatcher. We are not the developers, not VALINET Solutions SRL and not Microsoft. We test on GitHub-hosted Windows machines (virtual machines, not physical PCs), label every claim as tested or upstream, never host the program, and credit the people who build it: Valentin-Gabriel Radu, Amrsatrio, contributors and translators.
Checked against ExplorerPatcher 71.1 (26100.9711.71.1) on Windows Server 2025 (24H2 shell) 26100.33674 and Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2 26200.9725 · Nov 6, 2026Who we are
We are an independent guide. We are not the ExplorerPatcher developers, we are not VALINET Solutions SRL, and we are not affiliated with Microsoft. We did not write ExplorerPatcher and we cannot fix bugs in it. Bugs go to the project’s issue tracker. Our disclaimer has the formal wording.
What we do: we install ExplorerPatcher on test machines, record what happens, read its public source code and release notes, and explain both in plain English. We also build small tools that run in your browser (see tools).
How we work
- Tested or upstream. A claim is either something we saw on our own machines, or it comes from the project’s wiki, source code or release notes and is labelled that way. If we have not tested something, we say so.
- Real machines, named exactly. We test on GitHub-hosted Windows machines: Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2 on Arm64, Windows Server 2025 (24H2 shell) and Windows Server 2022 (Windows 10 shell). We do not claim physical PCs, multiple monitors, Smart App Control turned on, third-party antivirus or Insider builds. The how we test page has the method and the raw results.
- Never a download host. Every download link goes to GitHub. We do not mirror or proxy any ExplorerPatcher file.
- Safety first. Our guides say where to back up and how to recover before a risky step.
- Plain language, no hype. We show no ads.
- Corrections in the open. When we get something wrong, we fix it and log it on the corrections page.
